Abstract:

I will briefly introduce the concept of quantum networks and quantum memories. As a vital application of quantum networks, the distributed quantum computing provides a viable approach towards scalable quantum computation. However, it has only been realized within single nodes or between nodes separated by a few tens of meters. Here, we demonstrate distributed quantum computing between two nodes separated by 7 km, based on stationary qubits combined with long-lived and multiplexed quantum memories, flying qubits at telecom wavelengths, and active feedforward control based on field-deployed fiber channels. This result lays the foundation for the construction of large-scale quantum computing networks relying on commercial fiber channels.
