Q-PHOTON — Quantum Photonic Hardware for Optical Technologies and Computing

Research banner

The Q-PHOTON Group at KTH Royal Institute of Technology develops programmable photonic hardware for quantum technologies and advanced optical computing. Our research focuses on scalable platforms that integrate quantum light sources, large-scale photonic circuits, and superconducting single-photon detectors.

We design reconfigurable photonic processors that enable precise control of light at the quantum level, supporting applications in quantum information processing, neuromorphic computing, and optical AI acceleration. In parallel, we explore fundamental phenomena in quantum optics and topological photonics, using programmable systems as testbeds for new physical regimes.

Highly motivated students interested in joining the group are encouraged to contact PI Ali W. Elshaari (elshaari@kth.se) to explore available opportunities.
