Laboratory equipment

The group operates laboratories for optical and structural characterization of nanostructures as well as some chemical equipment:

Micro-photoluminescence. Inverted optical microscope in a light-proof box with a motorized X-Y-Z stage. A spectrometer with a cooled CCD camera are attached for microphotoluminescence characterization with blue and green laser diode for excitation. AFM unit can be placed on top of the microscope for combined PL-AFM measurements. Cryostat can be placed for low temperature measurements and two APD detectors are used for photon counting and time-resolved studies down to single particle resolution.

Integrating sphere. For quantum yield, haze, transparency, reflection and absorption measurements. The excitation source is a laser-driven white light source, where the excitation wavelength can be chosen by a spectrometer attached to it. The detection system consists of a cooled CCD with a spectrometer attached (300-1000 nm range). Another detection system is with an InGaAs detector (950-1700 nm).

Solar Simulator An LED-based large area (25x25 cm^2) solar simulator for EQE and PCE measurements.

Schlenk line. Fume hood and a glove box for chemical processing and nanoparticle synthesis in inert atmosphere.
