Title: Methods for laboratory-based phase-contrast x-ray imaging – a comparison
Abstract:
X-ray phase-contrast imaging differs from traditional x-ray imaging as it uses refraction of the x-rays, rather than absorption. This allows you to observe normally invisible details, and sometimes gives better dose efficiency. Using phase contrast with lab sources, which are broadband, is a challenge. Liquid-metal-jet sources, originally developed in the Biox group at KTH, makes high-resolution phase-contrast imaging possible. In the Biox lab, three different phase-contrast methods are currently in use. I outline the methods and compare them, with emphasis on the dose efficiency.
