The "Photonics" research unit is currently located in Electrum building, KTH's Kista campus. We conduct research on a broad range of topics, from trending new materials and phenomena to essential blocks of modern photonics including semiconductor materials and silicon photonics, towards energy, information and sensing applications. We exploit greatly the potential offered by nanostructuring, and look for better interfacing between photonics and electronics. We teach courses at varous academic levels, mostly physics- and technology-related. The unit will move to the AlbaNova campus in the second quarter of 2020, after a strategic planning process. We are part of the Linnaeus center in Advanced Optics and Photonics (ADOPT) .
