Abstract:

Single Technologies AB was founded in 2014 with members from Applied Physics @ KTH and the founders of Proximion AB, a fiber optical company. The original goal was to parallelize confocal imaging and scale up fluorescence correlation spectroscopy with applications in single cell biology. However, the development of the scanner and what we call open fluidics led us into new applications, in which Next Generation Sequencing and in-situ Sequencing was the most promising. The new tech developed generates orders of magnitude more reads than state-of-the art sequencers. The talk will cover both the development of Single Technologies, going from PhD studies to creating a startup and the development of our sequencer Theta and perhaps show some images/data generated by the tech.
