Title: Fractional calculus and its application in science and engineering

Abstract: Since the birth of calculus around 300 years ago, the question has been raised about the meaning of the nth order derivative of a function, where n is a fraction. Interest in Fractional calculus has intensified in the last few decades, with applications to viscoelasticity, electromagnetism, heat conduction, diffusion and control theory. This talk will explore the effect of the nth order fractional derivative on the transition curves separating the regions of stability from regions of instability in a parametric oscillator
